Gwinear Church
Loading...
The church of St Gwinear dates from the 13th century, of which only the chancel remains (the window tracery over the altar is particularly fine). The nave, aisles and chancel wagon roof are 15th century, with the north Arundell aisle being added in the 16th. Some of the capitals are carved with angels and one bears the stag of St Gwinear. The base of the rood screen dates to the 16th century and there are some 17th century bench ends built into the 19th century pulpit.
