Kite Tricks
Yo-Fade
Group 4
Description
The Yo-Fade is a Fade performed while the kite is in a Yo-Yo, but with the lines wrapped around the kite in the opposite direction of a normal Yo-Yo. The trick is initiated with the kite flying straight down; then the nose is tilted up into and beyond the Fade position (belly up, nose toward the pilot), with the rotation continuing a full 360° beyond the Fade position. The kite is now in a Fade again, but the lines are wrapped once around the kite. The kite exits the trick either by unrolling to unwrap the lines and flying straight down, or by executing a half backspin and then unrolling and flying straight up.
