{"id":1988,"date":"2019-04-19T15:40:36","date_gmt":"2019-04-19T15:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/wordpress\/?p=1988"},"modified":"2022-09-13T11:28:59","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T11:28:59","slug":"duloe-cornwall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/wordpress\/2019\/04\/19\/duloe-cornwall\/","title":{"rendered":"Duloe, Cornwall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Last month I added a three panorama tour of <a href=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/panoramas\/cornwall\/duloe.html\">St Cuby&#8217;s Church, Duloe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The church was built between the 13th and 15th centuries and the north  aisle added in the 16th. It was restored in 1860 by J P St Aubyn. The Coleshull chantry chapel has some fine examples of 15th and 16th century slate tomb memorials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/panoramas\/cornwall\/duloe.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"448\" height=\"224\" src=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/DuloePanorama.jpg\" alt=\"Duloe Church\" class=\"wp-image-1989\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While I was there I also photographed and made a panorama of the <a href=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/panoramas\/cornwall\/duloestonecircle.html\">Duloe Stone Circle<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/panoramas\/cornwall\/duloestonecircle.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"448\" height=\"224\" src=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/DuloeStoneCircle.jpg\" alt=\"Duloe Stone Circle\" class=\"wp-image-1990\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Duloe stone circle, dating to about 2000bce, is the smallest in  Cornwall at between 10.2 and 11.7m in diameter, but it has the largest  stones, the tallest of which stands at 2.65m. The eight stones (one has  fallen) are orientated to the points of the compass. A very small ninth  stone has been added in the recent past and probably should be removed.  The quartz-rich stones are not local to the site and have probably been  brought from Herodsfoot mine about two miles to the north west, or  possibly Tregartland Tor about a mile to the south east. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also added panoramas of the churches at <a href=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/panoramas\/cornwall\/stkeyne.html\">St Keyne<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/reeddesign.co.uk\/panoramas\/cornwall\/herodsfoot.html\">All Saints, Herodsfoot<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last month I added a three panorama tour of St Cuby&#8217;s Church, Duloe.
